![]() (Looked like the exact same log output I've been seeing, plus error codes at what I'm assuming are obfuscated source locations, so I dunno if there's any point to post that debug log here as well. Saw the FAQ link in your sig, turned on debug logging and sent it to the support email, hopefully there's some helpful info there. ![]() Not USB in this case but SATA, so dunno if there's anything there. I don't *think* it's the disc in this case, unless it's some manufacturing defect that would affect multiple copies of the disc in the same way (but that's certainly possible.) Something has caused the drive to become unresponsive, usually related to the disk itself, but sometimes related to hardware (USB drives can run out of power when they go fast, but that error usually is different).įrom my experience, the drive has decided to keep trying to read a sector that it couldn't read, and so it ignores calls from the operating system to report its status. There is one small spot on the disc that looks like a permanent smudge or warp of some sort (photos attached). The first UHD disc fails at about 30 rip progress each time with read errors (pasted below). Woodstock wrote:Hardware time-outs do not have to do with decryption. Purchased a like new (opened, never viewed) Mission: Impossible 6 movie set on eBay. My drive is an ASUS BW-16D1HT on FW 3.00: Interestingly, the offsets are always exactly the same, on every attempt, and with both copies of the disc. L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR occurred while reading /VIDEOTS/VTS031. Unfortunately, I am given the following errors. I've tried cleaning it anyway, with no luck. I am trying to put my old copy of Star Trek 6, the Undiscovered Country on my mp3 player. The surface looks pristine to my eyes, too. I'm pretty sure there's no damage to the disc - I literally took it directly from the newly-opened package and put it in the drive. Also, it's not this particular copy of the disc, either: I thought the disc might be defective, so I returned it for another, and the second has the same behavior. I have killed all extraneous processes that are not needed and still the problem persists.Code: Select all MakeMKV v1.12.0 win(圆4-release) startedĮrror 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading 'BD-RE ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.00' at offset '524288'Įrror 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading 'BD-RE ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.00' at offset '1048576'Įrror 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading 'BD-RE ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.00' at offset '32768'Īgain, I've ripped several other discs without issues, it's just this one giving me trouble. Do not use harsh chemicals to do this - optical disks do not react well to things like ammonia cleaners. First response to that is to clean the disk. However, after uninstalling both of those updates I still encounter the same error in ripping those 6 discs with the new drive. The drive says it can't read parts of the disk. I then started to suspect the 2 Windupdates that I installed that same day but had not yet restarted my machine after installing, KB4551762 and KB4541338. This new drive still encounters the same problems with all of the same 6 discs that ripped just fine previously only hours before. I pulled out the first drive, installed the second and then downgraded the firmware to 3.02, the same as I had done with the first drive upon installing it in my machine. I grabbed a spare Asus BW-16D1HT that I purchased as a backup. Assuming my Asus BW-16D1HT drive might be the cause of the errors (a drive I have been using with no problems for more than 6 months). I went back and tried re-ripping several of the 6 that ripped just fine prior to the upgrade and those now fail with the same error. ![]() I uninstalled 1.15.0 and reverted back to 1.14.7 and still could not rip any furthers discs. I upgraded and since then I am unable to rip any new discs without constant errors like "Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR", or "OS error - STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR". I had a stack of 8 blu ray discs that I had successfully ripped 6 of the 8 before I noticed there was an update to 1.15 available.
